I play around with my substraight formula when I make new cake to compare/contrast etc....What I found is by adding a little more brown rice powder when making the jars during fruiting the caps are lighter in coloer then the jars with the normal substraight requirments also more potant. At first I thought the jars looked a bit mushey & gooey inside but I continued to let them grow out and today it produces heathly mushrooms that seem better then the other jars and look a little different in that the caps have a lighter color any similar experiences? The mushrooms in all the jars are healthy they smell shroomey the only difference is darker caps with normal substright and lighter caps in the extra brown rice powder substright its almost like a different race!!!!

Its funny how substrate can effect the fruits.
Tasmanians on millet and BRF are light yellow capped and stocky. picture perfect mush.
Tasmanians on rye and manure are dark capped (nearly red), have twisted, meaty stems and they look shite!
They were most potent off rye and millet.
The increase of nutrients when adding more brf would have caused the increase in potency you experienced
