I was wondering exactly what these lyrics are talking about, and I did a little reasearch. This is sort of a short summary Saturn is the planet that rules the Daath which consists of the first four initiations The first and second initiations stimulate the transfer (or release) of energy from the solar plexus chakra to the heart chakra. The third initiation is where the battle occurs between various emotionally charged thought-forms leading to the eventual purification of the astral and lower mental bodies. Human relationships form the primary arena for the purging process and as our consciousness rises to the heart centre there is a shift from conditional to unconditional love. The song is basically about a grudge of two lovers, so the ascent of saturn must represent this emotional conflict between to humans. I thought this was interesting....can anyone make sense of "Choose One or Ten?" References: http://www.astrosite.com/__MadalynH-D.htm http://home.talkcity.com/SpiritCir/gracewatcher/six.html

On one level I think the song can be thought of as a conflict between two lovers, but on a deeper level I think it represents society as a whole. "Calculate what we will or will not tolerate. Desperate to control all and everything." This is refering to the "system" in which we live, in which power and control are the highest values. "Saturn ascends, choose one or ten. Hang on or be humbled again." I think choose one or ten means that when saturn ascends, we are going to have to make a choice. One being one end of the spectrum and ten being the other. The choice between conditional and unconditional love. If we chose correctly we'll be ok, otherwise we'll be humbled again. That's interesting about Saturn, it just makes the song make that much more sense. (The song is Tool - The Grudge in case anyone didn't know)

I posted a thread about interpretations of "The Grudge" back in October and pulled this snippet from it. Shroomism said: Well from my take on it, it is saying to clear yourself of karmic patterns, otherwise suffer from them. It is interesting when it speaks of Saturn Ascends.. Saturn has come to represent both the physical limits and the karmic process where our lives is divided in cycles of learning. With each Saturn's return we come to rememorate (consciously or unconsciously) our previous experiences. Hopefully we'll learn from successes and failures. This would also be a time to reap what we have sow.
