hey guys, i have a ? for the vets here about my overlay prob. i'm pretty sure it's because of high temps. i'll be fixing that tomorrow, but my question is what should i do with this casing>?? should i just drop the temp and let it go, or should i deep scratch it and re-patch?
also, if the temps are correct, will the casing still have a chance to overlay if the rh is too high?
thanks you guys and happy easter

Doesn't look like overlay to me, I'd just continue fruiting as normal. Scratching and/or repatching will only delay pinning as the casing will need to exert more energy in repairs when it could be using that energy to fruit.

the last casing that i did was very different from this one... it just looks as if its taking over the casing layer far too much. the last casing had the myc poking thru just a bit and then started to form knots. and this one has almost colonized the top of the casing layer 100%.
so if i just make sure i drop the temp, it should fruit as normal?

righto...doesnt look like overlay to me at all...jus let it sit there, and it will eventually go. In my experiences, the less you love and nuture em, the better off they are.

hehe good post, i have a similar problem..
a spawned hpoo casing. cased with 50/50 with eggshells.
the problem is that the casing is all over colonized/overlay.
what shall i do? maybe put a 0.5 cm casing-mix all over?
