sorry for the post herebut i posted in the contam forum and i got no response, i wanted to post it here originally but didn't, guess i was right, this forum is just better. plus i need answers, thanks for the help.
recently i had a WBS jar become contaminated. something dark, kinda greenish. the jar was 90% colonized when this happened. about 5% was contaminated. i decided to wait an see. 1 week later uncolonized 5% is now colonized with myc. this is strong growth throughout and the 5% mold is about halfway covered with myc and most spots you can't even see it underneath. if this trend contionues and the myc wins will i have a shot at fruiting without contamining my casing. can the myc win? mostly i am interested to know if my casing will make it or simply become immediately contaminated? anyway questions answered a a courseof action is much appreciated. anyone with 1st hand experience like this and beating the mol? thanks, sorry so long.

It may beat the mold on the outer edge of the jar but it probably might still be contaminated in the middle, but you will have to break it all open to see.

Yeah i would say it's doomed if you saw green in there. Remember that green mold also turns white before going green it may be growing over itself. I have seen the myc grow over mold though and it may have in your case but I'd be pretty willing to bet the center of the jar isn't real pretty.

There's really no way to tell until it's been cased. If it's the mean green, you can try to fight it with salt and hydrogen peroxide, but it's anyone's guess. I'd suggest keeping it away from your other casings and see how well it does. Even if it fails, the loss of a single jar isn't that bad.

you could pull off all the non contaminated parts and case it. it might grow some mushies. if not, no loss because if was effed already.

Toss out jars with green in them at first sight. Refill the jars with fresh substrate and start over, being more careful the next time.
Even if the mycelium 'overruns' the trich, the contaminant is still there. You can prove this by putting two strains or even two species such as pans and cubes into the same jar. One does not overrun and take over the other. Most times both will fruit. I've had lots of bulk substrates fruit both cubes and pans, so don't think the trich is gone just because you no longer see it.
So, the trich is sitting in there ready to come back at any moment. You don't want that happening in your fruiting chamber where it will release millions of additional trich spores to contaminate your future projects. RR

Myc will in many instances win out but this in no way means the mean greenie is not still present. This in no way means you can't fruit this you just shouldn't fruit it around any others and definitely not use it as spawn or in combination with other clean cultures. RR pretty much covered this but I just wanted to reiterate it once again and add the culture is still perfect for an OD grow away from your house and buried, it will produce when conditions are right and nature has it's own way of combating the mean greenie on it's terms.

Way back, I tried fruiting out a few jars, that had a spot of green in them. That myc seemed to eat right up & the whole jar colonized WHITE.
Once spawned to compost-h/poo, frigging GREEN popped right up - again.
Now, any sign of green means TRASH CAN TEK, to me.
