pf to grain question.

So i have a bag pf style that is trying to stall on me. I am about to cook up a bunch of pure millet jars. I want to transfer pieces of my large cake to my jars of millet.
As of right now I do not have a glove box, but i can get a small area very clean with no air flow.
My question is can I open the bag, break up the mycelium into say nickle sized pieces, dump the pieces out into a Tupperware and use tweezers to dunk each piece into 91% alcohol for say 8-10 seconds then quickly place in jar of millet?
The bag isn't fully colonized, but if i dunked pieces of myc. into the alcohol, even if it had some uncolonized pieces clung to the myc would it contaminate or would the alcohol kill all the nasties if dunked for 8-10 seconds.
This just seems easier then g2g since i will have chunks of myc. that i could submerge the quickly lift jar lid, place in chunk and close?
I figure if this would work i have enough spawn in this bag to inoculate at least 70-100 grain jars.
Also, did i read correctly that alcohol will kill the nasty spores, just not after they have germinated?
thanks and sorry for the long repetitive post.

Remove any fabric from the room and shut off all the air flow and then clean the room very well. Wipe down your working surface with 71% alcohol or a diluted bleach solution. Take a shower. I'd probably do it without a shirt on or at least wear a clean one.
Break up the mycelium inside the bag. Then while holding your breath remove one chunk of the mycelium and transfer it to the grain as quickly as possible limiting any exposer to open air.
Dunking in alcohol will be unnecessary I believe. But if you did want to do something like that, Hydrogen peroxide would be far better for that application then alcohol.

Yes but i am going to be doing a great deal of jars off of this one bag, so it will be open to contams for a while. if open air gets in the bag, it might not hurt the colonized myc. but wont contam spores get all over the myc in the bag by the time I'm on say the 30th jar or so.
if i have the bag open that long it seems no matter how fast i did the transfer I would be transferring something nasty that has landed in the bag into my grain jars.
This is why i want to know if i dunk each piece for 5-10 seconds if it would kill anything that has landed on it so i can do many many jars from this one bag. doing that many jars would mean the bag would be exposed to unsterile air for at least 10-15 minutes minimum?
so peroxide would be better for dunking the pieces? i just want to use whatever will kill the nasty spores more efficiently.
Thank you.

Yup use the peroxide.
I believe a non diluted 3% solution would be best if your just doing a quick dunk. I have used it on my cakes and on colonizing mycelium before and it didn't seem to hurt anything if used sparingly.
If that is too strong I'm sure someone will chime in.

Alcohol would straight up kill a huge portion of your myc, if not all. Use diluted H202. I turn my oven on about 350 and do my work on a pulled out rack. The rising heat doesn't allow things to drop in. Never had a contam problem with this method.

yes im am familiar with the oven tech, i mean i could even build a little still air box if i wanted to, but thats not what im trying to clarify. iIm just wanting clarification that dunking myc. chunks in h202 will clean my myc good enough that i can quickly transer into a grain jar.
i want to have all of my jars set up, a bowl of peroxide, and my bag with chunks uf myc.
i want to have all my bands off my jars so i can take a chunk, dip it, quickly lift lid slightly, drop in myc. then repeat over and over for about 40-50 jars.
i will have masks and clean clothes along with a buddy keeping air ousted down for me and quickly wipe down working area every 10-15 jars.
i just need to know if this will work. If a non diluted 3% peroxide dip will work without harming myc, or how much it needs to be diluted to still kill all bad spores that might be on my myc. I figure if after the dunk if something nasty does happen to touch it during transfer it wont live seeing how the myc will be peroxidated.
just looking for clarification.
But thank you for the idea, im not critisizing you, i just want to know if this way will work.

dunk in non diluted h202. thats what i use, and that is what is suggested for cloning which ive yet to do but will eventually.
