I know there is no definitive answer but I did a g2g transfer about a week ago. All of them are almost completely colonized except for two, which have not changed at all for a few days now. Each one has an enormous mass of mycelium that I cannot break up no matter how hard i beat it (the wbs jars, that is ) Just thought i would use my makeshift glovebox to perform a little operation on the buggers with a long metal rod...

Well, I normally sterilize a spoon with some alcohol and use it to make breaks in it and then shake it again and usually that will do it. That's just me. I know some people will say no probably, but I routinely do g2g without a glove box or anything. I just alcohol a spoon and dig out a chunk. I've done this for over a year now with no contams, but some people won't believe that.

I use to use the "oven tek" to do everything and I had more contams with that than I do using nothing. I haven't had a contaminated jar for like 7-8 months. Now casings, that's another story. All of mine seem to contam by the third flush, but I've been told could be the area I live in. I don't soak my WBS either. Got a special recipe off a highly respected poster here. Saves a ton of time and mess and works just as good or better I think. Haven't had a contam since using his method.

I hope my trays dont get too many contams. Hopefully the HEPA air filter placed a few feet away from my chamber will help alot.
