.... It's starting to get warm out in my neck of the woods!
I would love if everyone would share their idea's and experiences for the way they maintain the temperature of their FC's and Incubators. I have seen a few good teks for keeping them warm but not Vice Versa ???
And..
What are the optimal temp levels for FC for casings and incubation?
If you have some Idea's please share!

Cooling down an FC is much more difficult then warming it up. Easiest thing is if you have central air or air conditioning. If you've got it at temps comfortable for you, it's gonna be comfortable for your shrooms.
Adding freezer packs and frozen bottles of water is pretty impractical. I've also noticed it causes a humidity drop do to the water condensing on the sides of the freezer packs.
Best thing to do I've found is to just try up put your FC into the coolest place of your house that you can. Use small fluorescent lights and only keep them on for short times. Open windows in the room at night so it cools down. When I first started growing and I was doing PF cakes. I could not keep my FC below 80 degrees and they still pinned fine.

Where I am at, I can't adjust the temp setting of the ac unit.
Current Temp of FC ~ 82-83F and Incubator ~93F... It's hot in there!

Did it take longer than expected with the heat at that level?
Any other idea's on cooling it down a bit??

It was my first attempt at growing. And I was starting to get a little nervous after a week. But I think I got pins in like 8 or 9 days.
Man that incubator is too hot btw. Your room temp is perfect for jars to colonize in. Just keep them in a a cardboard box or something.

I've seen a few methods posted in these forums.
1) Throw bottles filled with ice into your resevoir for a TiT setup.
2) AC the room.
I've been looking at the same problem for the last few days and I found this:
3) Get an IceProbe if you don't mind plunking down $100 or so.
