wet spot contam or colonization... update pics

14 days from inoculation, & its been 4 days since i posted my orig. contam question. i still have no rotten smell and the mycelium seems to be having no trouble taking over that wet patch of substrate.
heres the old pic:

heres the new one, mycelium has almost entirely colonized this jar(the outer substrate anyway), and the brown/tan hasnt spread.. if anything it appears to be fading:

any thoughts?

It looks almost like the problem was dropping the jar on the side or somethin and the wet brf stuck to the side. Definately wasn't wetspot

i think it s the flash is creating those black spots from air pockets. i can see them in the same place in both pics. if its contam it should spread noticeably in a few days, correct? thanks for the heads up, i will def keep an eye on it. as for dropping it, cant say that happened

Hi, I replied to your other thread. Like I said I have pretty much the same thing in my jar, and mine too is colonizing the area, it's just taking longer. The case with my jar was that the substrate was smeared against the side of the glass after PC'ing. Looks like you could've had the same scenario.

Nah, I dont have a digital camera, although it does look almost identical to yours. There is no odor whatsoever, and no signs of any black/green/blue/whatever color mold. The myc. is colonizing the area, and there is some nice rizo growth.. it's just taking longer than the other parts of the jar. I'll let you know if anything changes.

compared to all 4 golden teacher jars, this B+ one is rocking the colonization process. i cant even say its going that noticeably slower than my other 3 B+ at this point. guess il just have to wait for fruiting to find out for sure

Yeah, my similar jar is almost completey colonized (been 2 weeks), except for half of the bottom and the spot where the substrate was smeared. That area is taking a bit longer, but I noticed it is growing very thick and ropy there. Also a correction, my jar in question was inoc'd with Z-strain, not B+ (I did 6 of each). So far the z-strain is beating the B+ jars in terms of colonization. I'm down to 4 jars of each now, after having lost 4 to mold.
