Worry about finding them first, then move on to dosages. There are various pages on this site talking about the amount needed to trip. Typically it is in the range of 10-20 mushrooms or more. Here is a good page to start with, there are others like it.

There is a recent excellent post about sub hunting in Ohio, I think from last week maybe.
Good luck!

Clinical dosage for Panaeolus subbalteeatus is the exact same dosage for Psilocybe cubensis.
3-5 dried grams of fresh wild or cultivated subbs and one frsh ounce or just a tad more over the fresh ounce.
Here is a picture of government grown subbs form tiel in the Nederlands.
Check out their site at

Sorry to threadjack bobmarleys post, but considering he should just look this info up I don't feel too badly about it.
MJ, this is an amazing website, thanks for posting it. I am vacationing in spain this summer and have toyed with the idea of ordering some dutch mushrooms since they can legally deliver to that country.
Are the columbian and philippine psilocybes that they show just strains of cubes from those countries? That is what they look like to me anyway.

There is also this http://www.lactarius.com/fungi/Cook2004-09a.doc document that has Psilocybe semilanceata typo'd. These are supposed to be collections that were made in Cook County Illinois or herbarium records from 1890 for the same area from what I gather. I doubt that they do grow in your area but it is not like you have lots of other options.

MPt sure how semilanceata got on that list since Rolf Singer was the curator of the Chicago Museum of natural History's Herbarium. If there was a collection stored there it was form the Singer and Smith PNW copllections form late 1940s and not foerm cook county itself. I have corresponded int he past on numerous ocasions with Rolf and he told me that the mushroom does not grow in Illinois.
mj.
The list suggests that the collections there came form 1740 up to present so that species couold have been deposited at any time.
If indeed it really is a semilanceata. IT does not mean it came form there, only that it is on deposit there.
,j
Originally SInger and Smith excluded it fermt he PNW collections sinc eit was already iodentified form England as early as 1798 and herbnarium collections as early in England as 1851,

In my experience, subbs are almost as strong avg cubes, and a better trip too.

isnt it about 4 mature ones or was it 10-20? I might go hunting for pan. subbs in a day or two if it doesnt rain hella hard, which it most likely will. The humidity and weather is perfect for pan. subbs here and im sure there are some just waiting for me.

Damn, I've been meaning to update that site for years. I made that back around 2003-2004 and haven't fixed it yet. If this summer isn't to busy with classes hopefully I'll get around to it.

For what clinical reasons are they administered out of curiousity?

The best method for tripping on panaeolus subbalteatus is to gather and dry about 200 grams, then eat approximately all your panaeolus subbalteatus at the same time.

wow 3-5 grams of dried cubensis is a very large dose. everyone has different tolerances to psilocybin correct? i have never exceeded much over 2 grams and have had a deffinate level 5 trip.
