Psilocybe Species in Illinois?
    #1426368 - 04/03/03 03:33 PM (18 years, 9 months ago)

Can someone hook me up with a list of known psilocybe mushrooms that grow in the state of Illinois and possibly what type of areas they tend to grow in?

I third the motion. I looked it up myself in several books on several websites (including leda.lycaem.org and errowid), and THERE ARE NO PSILOCYBE SPECIES FOUND IN ILLINOIS!!!! And there is only one Panaeolus species found there that contains psilocybin, but in such quantities as to be pretty much useless.

Oh yes, lest we forget. Illinois is thew home of Pluteus salicinus, which is also knonw in several European countries. The young have pink gills.

There is a phot at my site but the shroomery has not reconnected me yet.
