(the following is philosophical theory, and should not indicate the buying\selling of a controlled substance)
Anyone whos whos been a "Mushroom Man" for their fellow humans will probably know what im talking about... That feeling of power... that feeling of contribution to a greater cause... the ability to give someone something that will change their world perspective that otherwise, without you, they would have not been able to experience.
What im getting at... is what do you think, beyond a superficial level, what all do you think being the "Mushroom Man" entails? I like to think of divine guidance in everything i do... i find it no surprise that out of a huuge batch of 4 strains, only the Golden Teachers came through, twice... and all the friends i gave a surprise dose of the Golden Teachers too had issued and decisions in their life i didnt know about that it helped with greatly.
As the Mushroom Man, would you believe it your responsibility to conciously lookout for the mental and spiritual wellbeing of your "students" on a more shamanistic level? I dont sell them... i love the feeling of giving them away more then i do making a few bucks... i just find it dangerous terotority (although i realize the people that do it take a certain ammount of personal responsibility).
I guess the real question is, how active are you in facilitating mental and spiritual growth in those around you? Is it even worth it in the longrun? and what else do you do that is similiar?
discuss!

That's cool man. Anybody who takes these shrooms though isn't going to feel the same as you do. You have to have the desire to "explore" your mind to really get anything out of it. Maybe you are piquing the interests of these friends at best. My experiences have certainly changed my perspective on things. I like that page in the Be Here Now book with the dudes falling off the tower. Even after 100s of trips they can see the light, but they can never stay at the top. I'm sure this has a lot of validity, so I'm spending more time meditating and trying to be conscious of my surroundings. I will say though that once you see the light, it's easier to pursue that path.

I don't subscribe to the idea that these plants are really as special as you make them out to be. Certainly not divine. However, after reading some Castaneda I am open to the idea that when we eat these things, we may be in fact communicating with another realm or entity maybe.
That's cool that you feel like the Johnny Appleseed of shrooms. I wouldn't get to wrapped up in the idea that they are the only way to understand this game we're playing.

feelings on shrooms can be quite deceiving. mckenna thought his jungle trip heralded a new world for all mankind. be wary of these grandiose ideas unless you can cement them in real-world action.

I donno... i think they beyond the exagerated perception of the muhsroom that, especially with something this psychoactive, there is definately divine influence on when\where\how things fall into place that lead it into comning avalible... maybe not.. i donno... i still have a lot to learn, lol

We all have much to learn. I don't think getting over your reverence of the psychedelic experience is one of them.
