In the Company of Wolves
    #5511093 - 04/13/06 04:13 AM (17 years, 9 months ago)

So i was in the town i went to highschool in the last couple days. I went to see this chick and smoked with some friends in the city park gazeebo. I hadent done that in soo long. We walked down first St. to go to this jewlry store cause on of the girls wanted something.

We step onto a block of the street i have many great memories at. There was this coffee shop there it was like the center of the scene. It got shut down a couple months back. We walk up and see a sign that says "Coming Soon- Filthy Gorgeous"

another insanley over priced boutique store!!!! They took our coffee shop for THIS!!!!

Its sad. I had alot of fun there. I got banned for calling one of the owners a Nazi because she wouldnt let me play guitar out front at the tables. Ive played on open mics there, sold pot from there, and met alot of my good friends through it. It just not the same anymore. I miss it there.

Change was what i noticed was the prevelent feeling that day. I was there for a date with the first girl since i got over my ex, 2c-i seems to be going around there now which is a very new thing for that town, In the Company of Wolves is becoming "Filthy Gorgeous", and there is this huge new commercial/ condo development the built by the water. It was weird.

I plan on moving back there soon. Its soo much nicer than living in Richmond. I dont need a blade when i leave my house at night there.

Gues this post is just a rant really. It was weird seeing how different shit is now since i dont get out there much anymore.

urban sprawl and cookie cutter boxes full of shit make me sick
to think i had a small hand in building some of them in phoenix for a few months, it was a bad vibe all around.

Sounds a lot like what's happened to my new town. It got "starbucked." Used to be a hardware store, a stationary store, a market/art gallery, a skate/surf shop, and an old post office which had been converted into a bakery. All those stores have been replaced with boutiques over the past 3-4 years. just gotta accept change I guess.

yeah now there will be 2 starbucks there.

I think it would be cool to own a coffee shop there in the future. A small place with live music and the works.

maybe someday
