i live in the northeast USA.
i have some casings that i want to spawn to some storebought _______ . what kind of manure/compost should i try and buy?
if anyone has grown cubes outside in the northeast, how often did you water them?

Same here. I just found out my free source of hpoo is worthless because it isn't dried/aged.
Wondering what the next-best (and readily-available) substrate would be.

dry your hpoo in the summer... id think it would still work though. but as far as store bought mixes (ive read) most are too broken down to be good for mushrooms. but just thinking that it seems like cubes are from warmer places where it doesnt get -30F so that might kill it off in the winter (might be wrong) your crappy side of the country certainly gets warm and humid enough for part of the year 
i know some farm supply/organic garden places around here sell plain and pasteurized hpoo.... but then again they only come in 100lb bags. iam sure the same thing exists over there but do you really want a giant bag of horse shit sitting around?

I can find composted cow poo no problem but I was told by someone else that it was worthless for shrooms.
I think I'm going to just wind up doing WBS + BFR unless someone has a better suggestion.
