It will probably work ok. Mix with some coir and used coffee grinds to add texture and additional food. I like to add ten percent vermiculite as well to break up the bagged manure. Add moisture to field capacity and pasteurize until the center of the manure reaches 140F to 160F for one hour. RR

I don't mean to rain on any parades. But most of that bagged Home Depot shit......is SHIT. Not THE SHIT .....just shit .
It is made from feed lot manure, high in salts, sprayed with fungicides & insecticides.
Sadly, I would wager, a grow on it will be mediocre at best.

Yea, nobody said it's great. It's been raining here for several months and there's no way to get horse manure that's nice and dry. My last several grows have had to make use of the store bought stuff.
This might not be a problem with the dehydrated, but if you buy the composted cow manure from the store, you should lay it out in trays in the sun for a couple of days to let any ammonia from the urine burn off. I've had some great grows with store bought stuff, but as said above, you should mix in some coir and coffee grinds. Other ingredients to mix in if you have them are worm castings, chicken manure at no more than 5% of the total, cotton seed hulls, dried seaweed, straw, etc. I've found that the more different things you mix into the substrate, the better the mushrooms like it. If your mixture seems 'heavy', cut it with ten to twenty percent verm. RR
