I know the simple answer is just use a TiT but Im looking to keep this as small a setup as possible. Here is a picture of my potential idea I just need a name for something that could be used where the red line is... Basically you have the tub...the blue thing is my heatbomb...the little black lines are something to hold the platform about the heatbomb and the pale brown things are jars/bags/whatever. What I was wondering is if anyone has an idea of something solid that could be used as the red part and disperse the heat equally along that surface?

Im sure you thought of this, some sort of stronge wire mesh or rack would work, id imagine the smaller the holes the more despersed the heat would be. but I find in my area I dont need to incubat at ll in fact i prolly need to put ice in my tube i keep my jars in.
i live in, oh shit gota whatch it there, I almost told the feds were i live, hehe, well a really hot and humid enviroment.

I suppose it would depend on what your 'heatbomb' is and is this a incubator or a fruiting chamber?

its my incubator and the heatbomb is a submersibe fish tank heater in a ketchup bottle. It works now but Im also only doing 1 quart jar. I want to be able to spread the heat alittle more evenly for when I move and start more.

An aluminum plate.
If you use something with holes in it(like a screen) the heat will just pass upwards of the heatbomb.
You want something solid that just fits in short of the inner tub wall a half an inch or so. This will cause the aluminum plate to warm as evenly as possible.
Also, keeping your device level will help it work more efficiently.

thanks this is pretty much exactly what I was looking for. Where would one find an alumnium plate in regards to home depot? Which section?

What about getting some sort of wire mesh(red line), putting water in the bottom of the tub and putting the heater in the water?
