Can anyone give me any interesting psychology facts or links.
Psychology seems like a very interesting subject but alot of books i've seen on psychology seem really dry and boring.
I did see one website that had some interesting stuff on it but it was a long time ago and i forget the website.

i do psychology as a university study and trust me, it just somehow just becomes the same and boring
i dunno 13% of people are left handed if you can count from 100 backwards removing 9 numbers every time its a sign that means you don't have mental dementia or something its all kinda boring and crap if you think about it the only way psychology can work is if people actually aknowlage what you sayto them
for example my psychoanalyst can sound like ' bla bla ' one day and the other ' wow ' but in 2-3 days the bla bla and the wow blending into one big blah.

hmm psychology is kind of boring and dry subject litterature wise. i find neuropsychology to be much more intresting because it goes more into how the brain actually works imo. anyways, psychology is a million diffrent things, what kind of psycoholy are you intrested in?

Psychology is a million different things, just as philosophy is as well.
Psychology is the study of human behavior and our mental processes, and when you really think about that definition, it can be applied to practically everything we do or say.
I'm a 2nd-year psych major at a university and i can tell you right now that it's neither boring or all the same. You have abnormal psychology Group psychology psychopathology stress and health psychology developmental psychology cognitive psychology
The list goes on and on. I have yet to become disinterested with the subject and i really doubt i ever will. Within each one of these categories exists a myriad of sub-categories.
The thing i like about psychology is that it's highly practical - everything you learn can in some way or another be applied to yourself and help you understand the people and the world around you more clearly. Whether it's learning how to be more persuasive or understanding, or learning how to communicate more effectively with the people in your life, your brain immediately recognizes the functionality of psychology as you learn more and augments itself with the new knowledge almost subconsciously sometimes.
If there was ever a field of academics that actually maintained some kind of day-to-day functionality, it's psychology. It'll help you deal with people, to put it as simply as possible.

has anyone heard of derren brown?
He does these weird mind tricks. like he can get someone to just hand over their wallet, call a someone and make them fall asleep on the phone, make people forget their names and stuff.
That is the stuff i think i'd be interested in, how all that stuff works.

edit: oops, wrong guy. I though you were interested in sleight-of-hand-tricks.
Then read up on "change blindness". Google it. Also inattentional blindness. Anything written by Kristof Koch or Francis Crick on the subject is probably a good read (although change blindness isn't their discovery)

Slashdot/boingboing-like news aggregator for psychology and neurology stories. Seems to be linked to the book they're selling, which I haven't read and don't intend to, but they link to interesting stories.

I was a psychology major in college, and am going back for my Ph.D in psych. There's lots of facinating things to learn about, the theories of freud and jung are intersting (though I don't subscribe to them) Conditioning is a very cool practice, essentially training somoene to elicit a response that you'd like to see (such as ringing a bell which causes a dog to salivate). The study of statistics and their application in psychology is pretty cool, and I find to be useful for a great deal of real-world applications.
Apart from the disciplines that toadie mentioned, there's a number of other disciplines which would appeal to anyone. If you're really interested in psychology from kind of a layman perespective, check out a book on social psychology. These theories and studies are applicable to most anyone and are often used in business to help run large companies.
You'll learn about experiments such as Milgram, the man who found that if people dress like a doctor (lab coat etc.), people tend to follow orders even past where their morals would object, he had people shock other people with increasingly powerful shocks to the point where the subject believed that serious injury or death could occur, but most continued to administer shocks because the "Doctor" told them to. Now, as it turns out, the experiment included 2 actors, the shockee and the doctor, but it found some interesting things which could be applied to Nazis during WWII. Also, the stanford prison study, Kitty Genivese murder in New york and so on. I would recommend you go to wikipedia and type social psychology, or type in some of the individual cases I mentioned, should make for some interesting reads.
Peace

I actually watched the video of this experiment being performed in the first psych class I ever took. It certainly peaked my interest in the subject.
It did piss me off, the way the subjects reacted to the fake doctor's orders. They'd act all nervous, "that man's in serious pain!" To which the doctor would reply, "it is crucial to the experiment that you continue." Sure enough, they'd continue to comply.
