Go out and get a DJ Caffeine cd. Hardstyle is the best style.

Good choices.
I usually don't listen to techno, but when I do, I like it to be minimal. Have you heard Richie Hawtin's newest DE9 mix?

Squarepusher is always clutch.
Most stuff from BT's Movement in Still Life.
The suggestions for Aphex Twin are good calls.
Oh, get this! The Knife - Heartbeats.

DE9: Transitions is amazing, its one of the few CDs I've actually made it a point to go out and buy after downloading.
The DVD of it is very cool.
If you like minimal, you should sign up @ / check out the mnml.nl forums - loads of minimal techno sets to download.
you also might wanna check out these mixes
troy pierce - march 05 promo mix
troy pierce @ mutek
troy pierce @ nyc
^-- all very good minimal sets.
also - Sleep Archive (if you dont mind fussing with rapidshare). Very minimal set, reminds me alot of richie hawtins earlier stuff, circa consumed/closer.
very minimal/heady/trippy -- I love it.

Sweet, thanks a lot!
I have a minimal mix by some DJ called HeartThrob, @ mutek. It's pretty excellent, if you don't have it I'll upload it for ya.
I agree with you, Transistions is great. I like how he gives you the DVD w/ the extended mix and the mp3 on it. However, I think I prefer part 2, Closer to the Edit, over the third installment. The opener is amazing, and I love his deconstructed version of 'formenverwandler' by Der Zyklus. The only time I saw Richie Hawtin live he was fucking amazing, even when he discharged a fire extinguisher into the audience.

I have that heartthrob mix, its a good one, you may also want to check out heart throb @ ovest club - really good mix, been listening to it alot latley.
I've only seen Hawtin once before, it was a Weds night at a club in Toronto, 100% sober - danced my ass off like no tomorrow, I was into the music so much it felt like I was rolling.
He's comming back to Toronto again with Magda, Troy Pierce, and Marc Houl in May - I am SO damn excited.
I am also going to try and goto Mutek this year - its a big minimal techno conference/festival in Montreal (where that heartthrob mix was recorded)
