I don't think I'm complaining. I think my thoughts are more of a wistful realization of the transitions of life. Would I trade my life now to be a young and poor college student having the time of my life? I think I might.

That's the spirit. You live in a happening little college city. You should be having a blast right now.

I work a dumb full-time job...and go out at night. I am an avid bicyclist and I tour the city at least once a week on my day off. it's great. my favorite is riding on the lake next to all the girls sunbathing on the beach. the hood I live in is full of young people who are all pretty hip - lots of music and art and coffeeshops and venues and bookstores around here. great park right in the middle of everything thats always full of people when the weather's nice.
I am 26 and I dont really feel old. I'm enjoying the present.

the cathedral's nice but there's too many people there concentrating on school work so i avoid it outside of class situations. in between classes i'd rather chill at the new park between the libraries.
hippie doesn't really mean anything nowadays. i meant we all like chillin' in nature as often as possible and many of us jam out, enjoy entheogens, are pacifists, etc... in my opinion we are a poorly represented minority here in oakland
i don't think young people know how to enjoy pretty spring days better than older people. right?

hehe...good point. I thoroughly enjoyed my bike ride today.
Maybe I should stop stressing about my youth. I should embrace the fact that I am fast approaching 30. *gulp*

Shit, my brother is well past 30, and he's still going strong. One of the people I know up in PA is 90 and can still out drink anyone I know. Just gotta keep on keepin on. Enjoy life no matter what stage you're at, and as someone else said "never look back".

Let me guess, he's one of those "super-hicks" from rural northwestern PA? I have met many of them. You want to see real men...they are it. They can out drink and out fight anybody in the world.

Oh, what a dream!!!;
To be able to turn back time without losing knowledge.
I'd SO go back to 17. SO fast and without hesitation. God, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
I'd be rich beyond my wildest dreams. I'd never ever EVER have touched Cocaine for my enitre life, yet still knowing the feeling. I'd know how to treat a woman and how to approach one without fear of rejection. I'd live from the heart from that young age, all the way through, instead of learning my faults at such a late date.
Oh! What a dream!

Dude, you're no old fart. You're only 27. Sure, with age comes wisdom, it's natural. Slower for some than others, though, obviously.

Human memory tends to skew towards the positive. Prior phases in our lives always seem so wonderful, but really they had their ups and downs, just like the present does.
Plus, college is a fun period but imo 4-5 years is enough.

anyways Randall, stop wallowing in the past, it's not real, all you got is right NOW so love Today, or you will end up 40 thinking about how you didnt enjoy your 20s too

I hated college up until my last year there, when it turned into the best time of my life.
