it is recomended that you drain all water out of the jars, I just got my jars out of the PC and they are all clumped together when i try to shake my WBS... I guess i will wait till they cool down and try to shake some more... I will knock up the 4 but i don't think i will do it again.... I am sticking to Doc's tek.....

http://www.mycotopia.net/site/article.php?19.255

is what i used

its impossible to drain all water out of jars unless you get a paper towel and dry the wbs off..i drained as good as it gets and water still accumulates..but after pcing it should evaporate..my last wbs batch came out clumpy...but i dunno why so i just shook it as soon as it came out of pc and it was fine

to loosen the clumps take an old shoe and put the sole perpindicular to the ground and slam the side of the jar against it, works like a charm. Best when done HOT

For my lids what worked really well was:

I put 2 holes in it, and covered one with silicon. then i covered the other with micropore tape. Self healing injection site and air exchange, 0 contams out of 16 jars.

I also put a small amount of dry verm in each jar to absorb any extra moisture. worked great

I've bought that stuff from wallywolrd before. I remember because the checkout lady asked my what kind of bird I had. Saying your picking it up for someone else always works to shut them up.

Hulled Oats

Can't remeber if you want hulled or not...

I think unhulled is what you want simply b/c they have a shell, which keeps them from getting soggy...

3 shakes

1 right out the PCer

2 after you knock it up

3 after the jar is 30- 40% colinised

any additional shaking will result in delayed growth
