It wasn't rusty when I started it.  It's just something I made when I ran out of space and had 2 extra jars of grain spawn.  It kind of shows you can case in just about anything  :thumbup:.

Well none of the mushrooms are touching it; they all seem to be in the center of the casing, so are they okay? I guess I'll post pics of them more matured to see if they turn out bad...

Rust won't hurt anything as far as the shrooms are concerned although it is physically unappealing to us.

I'm not so sure rust wont hurt. I have seen a liquid culture stop growing when the agitation device was metal and rusting. I have no idea if the rust was to blame, but have since switched to rocks and never had the same trouble. The Myc. in question started to clump and take on a rusty red color and new, fluffy growth didn't seem to appear after shaking. I'm not to experienced with liquid culture but it just didn't look right.

nice, you have the EXACT same FC as me.. there should be contests for weirdest fruiting devices.. the pringles were awsome though..
