subbs are significantly smaller and weigh less than the majority of active mushrooms out there.
They can possibly have much higher doses of active compounds in them if you hunt for them at night when they are fruiting. (like 2 or 3 am) for the heat wont get to their frail bodies like it does around 2 pm.
Dont skip subbs. they WILL suprise you eventually if you keep trippin on em. i ate 4 grams of subbs and they blew away the 3 grams of cubensis i ate the month prior. i will never take cubes again.

Taste bad? In my opinion, the taste is quite mild. Relative to other actives, the taste is good.
Not the best mushrooms to have a trip from? This is a matter of personal taste, but many people enjoy this species and its unique offerings.
Very low potency and not worth the effort? In my experience the potency is low, however, not much effort is required if you find a large patch.

I've found tons of subbs in cincinnati. I always find them on freshly laid sod. I have also found them at the horse track stables. I normally don't bother with them as I have a few patches of ovoidecystia?? in the Nati area. They don't seem very potent out there but i'm used to psilocybe species.

I have new grass that I put in just a few months ago. I'm in the bay area cali and lately it's been cloudy but no rain. Shouldn't watering it do the same thing as rain? Also, anything I can do to have more likely of a chance to see mushrooms pop up on my lawn? Would walking on it lessen the chances of them?

So just out of curiosity, what does the rain provide that watering doesn't? Keep in mind the conditions for the last couple days was like rainy weather minus the rain.

Cubes are weak too and also taste like shit. subbs may be more potent, i dunno, but woodchip and soil mushrooms are the way to go if you can find em. I dont like dung mushrooms anymore

if you don't like cubes, get copes...

I dunno man, I worked at this company two years ago and they had sod. It was in the middle of july....like 80-90 out.....and they had a sprinkler system on every night and mid day, and low and behold thousands of subbs. No rain had been in the area for weeks and I filled two mcdonalds bags up.

well, vandago is right... i also have had the same things occur this summer yet the sprinkler system and sod is an exception as it mimics an unnatural yet very good setting in some instances causing huge flushes of subbs. yeah it happens but this isnt something that can be duplicated easily.
ive had sod on my yard for a month now and have yet to see even mycelium growing even though ive been dropping LC and spores on the entire thing. Its ill say... unusual when huge flushes occur on lawns. definitely not impossible though.

Central-ohio has gotten a good bit of rain the past 2 days... I spotted 3 mushrooms in a shaded area of my parents lawn today... they all looked well past their prime though. I didnt pick them because I didnt have a camera on me. They kinda looked like pan subbs's - they were WET and when I touched the gills it was like I had black ink on my hand. Anyway, I let em stay there. Would you suppose more should pop up? They were growing in well shaded grass that usually keeps moisture pretty long, plus there I spotted some of that little ball type fert still around (not much at all, just a few of those balls).
