how did some people evolve to be ectomorph's?
    #5502423 - 04/11/06 05:27 AM (17 years, 9 months ago)

I don't know much about evolution so that's why I'm asking.

It is harder for ectomorphs to gain weight and muscle mass
than it is for other body types. And sometimes ectomorphs are shorter than other people.

Where does evolution come into this? why would ectomorphs evolve to have the characteristics that they have?

Hot climates where not much physical strength was needed.

It's weird, a lot of people think that evolution is some magical force that makes people have better qualities.

It's not, evolution is fuelled by natural selection. Basically, the people who are able to reproduce are the ones who pass on their genes and characteristics. But mutations happen randomly. The changes that happen aren't in response to necessity, it's just that tons of people are born, and the ones who are able to survive, do.

The fact that there are ectomorphs isn't really a result of a greater evolutionary trend. There are tons of people, and they're all different. Some are fat, some are skinny.

Now, if the ectomorphs are able to have more children, then they will begin to be more common. Once they become more common, their numbers will expand exponentially, because there's just more of them reproducing. If that happens, then it will mean that evolution is moving in that direction.

Again, evolution isn't some magical misunderstood thing, it's a very logical, easy to understand phenonmenon. If you reproduce more, there are more of you. Understand?
