my girl friend work on a house farm and there are realy and i mean realy big piles of hourse poop in a clearing in the woods that is vary shady... there is some staw and wood chips in there to but what i want to know is if i could plant a colonized cake and mix the pile up alil bit and let it grow and if i can do that when should i start i live on the east cost of the usa

er..outdoor growing is a whole other area. I suggest you read around some before you try to do something like that.
hawk has a few ideas on his site, check the FAQ too.

Outdoor is real easy,and it's fun as shit.You don't even have to worry about contams cause nature balances all that out.You should read the FAQ,it has a part about outdoor cultivation.
