Everyone around here bitches up a storm when people don't use the fucking search engine.
Now that I did use the fucking search engine and found an informational thread, I get bitched at for it.

Since most of your questions are directed towards her, you could have asked said question in the form of a PM.
And, if you're looking for answers and opinions from members, you could just make a new thread, and then list this link in your thread and reference to it. If you continued to use the search function you'd find the answers to your questions, without resurrecting the thread. Granted you're asking for her opinion, it just bad taste seeing how some people come in here and ask questions in a thread that has been long dead and most people contributing to it may no longer be active.
Luckily she still is.
Ah well.

First of all, let me say NICE GROW, HippieChick!
I'm working with uncased horse poop right now too so I'm curious about a couple things.
Do you think uncased poo fruits better if its layed out like a cake rather than sitting in the tray?
Did you continue to experiement with uncased poo? If so how did everything turn out for you?
And did you ever experiment with that wax paper on top as a simulation casing layer?
Thanks for the help!
And if anyone else has experimented with uncased poo I'd apreciate your advice too.
Thanks
I found uncased poo gets best results when it's removed from the tray and treated like a cake . I like to expose as much of it to light as possible.
I don't case any bulk subs anymore .
Never tried the wax paper , don't see how it could hurt though.

Hey HC. When you say that you like to treat your colonized and uncased poo subsrates like cakes what kind of set up do you use? Shotgun? Martha?
Do you think doing bulk substrates as cakes has many benefits over using a monotub style set up?

Also, do you still inject the sub with syringes? Or just dunk and drain? If you DO inject, have you developed a system, or just feel it out? I may be wrong, but didnt I read that you dunk for only 4 hours vs. overnight?

Thanks for answering my questions!
I'm gonna start fruiting mine as cakes now rather than in the tray and see how that works out for me.
I'm also curious about if you still inject with water? And if so how do you go about doing it?
So you only work with uncased now huh? That's awesome, maybe I'll never have to fuck around with casing layers then.
Thank you!

You guys are right, I apologize for my hostility. While for some reason I thought I was helping, I was actually being counter-productive. I should have been more encouraging. My bad. =)

Cool, keep us updated on how the second flush turns out as a cake. I'm interested in seeing the results.

I just go with a dunk now . Anywhere from 4-6 hours seems to work . Any longer and the poo cake starts to fall apart .

I use a green house set up . Pretty much the same thing as a martha . Keep the humidity between 95%-97% with plenty of FAE . I checked it once and I figured it took about 10 minutes for a FAE .
I set the cake on a 50/50 mix of damp verm/perlite

place it in the GH . Keep up the humidity and FAE and wait for fruits

Have you been able to nail down any considerable differences in yield in the first flush between keeping the sub tubbed or caked? And if you do, are your subsequent flushes lesser in comparison? I'm all for getting the most out of the first 2 flushes and chucking... I can see how you'd have a larger pin set given the greater amount of surface area, but are you just getting smaller fruits and more of them? Since a good amount of time as gone by, how would you break down any of the positives and negatives with doing this?
