Uncased POO(UPDATE, HARVEST.SURPRISE,SURPRISE)

I decided to fruit some spawned poo, 2 1/2 pounds to 1 quart WBS , without casing it. Here's how it's coming along so far
That's it when I put it in the greenhouse on 4-3

Here it is on 4-7

and here it is today

Now, I did follow some of RR's advice and injected it in various spots with 2 CC's of distilled water on the 8th.
25 places, 2 CC's each spot. Question for RR, how often should you inject it with water?
Should be picking it tomorrow and compare yield with 2 other casings the same size that were cased.

Indeed...But then again...That pinset is amazing...I don't think i've ever seen GIANTS spread throughout...Let alone a giant period sourrouned by mushies.
Typically only see them on 2nd flushes or one bad pinsets...Like as if the myc. senses that it doesn't have many fruits, so It puts ALOT into one or two (or several), probably for the fact that a bigger cap = more spores....

Just measured. It's 2 3/4" deep by 7 1/2" wide by 12" long.
Like Gnostic said, the more prolific the flush, the smaller the fruits. We'll see how big they get as the number decreases and the available nutrients aren't spread so thin.

I think the jumbo manure cakes will be the wave of the future LOL. No side pinning woes and makes better use of the surface area.
It seems pretty clear that you will never get the kind of seemingly PERFECT pin sets some of the Old hands post pictures of without casing. But hey, I think anyone would be happy with the yield on that beauty.
Well done......so when we gonna get the new greenhouse tek?

There is no special ''greenhouse tek'', it's just a damn fruiting chamber made from a bookshelf, man. No new tek here.

Here's 2 the exact same size , cased , that were harvested yesterday

one was 675, the other 645 wet.
We'll see how it compares sometime tomorrow, hopefully

Nice job HC. The syrige can supply as much water as a casing layer. Just don't make the cake waterlogged. Inject whenever your intuition tells you the substrate is thirsty. Over time, you can develop a pretty good feel for picking up a tray and 'reading' the moisture content by the weight. The advantage is a quicker flush and there's no casing layer to contaminate. The disadvantage is in somewhat smaller pinset, which wax paper might help to fix. RR

Thanks.
I'll try the wax paper on the next one
I'll wait till after I harvest this one and it starts to pin again before injecting it again as I plan on dunking it
