Problem with fruiting...

Alright, ive got a couple of questions and i didnt see them answered on the previous posts, so here we go
First of all, is just having wet Perlite and a heatingpad underneath your fruiting chamber enough to bring about 95% humidity? Cause i put my cakes in, put some small sunlight on em, fanned out the camber ever day and i ended up with the HARDEST cakes on the face of the planet. Im not talking 'oh wow, that sure is stiff!', im talking i could knockout two people with one throw of these puppies.
Second of all, Dosnt condensation collect on the top of your terrariums? mine does, and when it does, it eventually falls on the cakes, thusly making em contaminated. I just got into this stuff a couple of months ago, and im still in the learning stages, but when u see 10 pins and then your cakes practically turn to stone, its a little frusterating. Is there any way to:
A) have a lost cost humidification system? is a heating pad enough? B) prevent condensation on the top of my terrarium? C) can i dunk these cakes? or are they done for good?
Thnx all, and yes, i know i suck

If you have a tub that's not overly ginormous ~ and your perlite has sufficient surface area; you should keep the perlite wet (but not in standing water) and also mist using a spray bottle (how much more low-cost can you get?). There shouldn't be a heating pad anywhere near your fruiting chamber. You want your fruiting temps to be 76 degrees or so. Fahrenheit. You want condensation on the top of your terrarium (unless you mean on the outside) because that evaporates and turns into RH. You should try to dunk the cakes... why not try after you've come this far? Also -- heating pads won't make your RH either better or worse... RH comes from misting and keeping proper perlite wetness. Fanning is good; air exchange is KEY for pins - as long as it's room temperature, it will fruit.

The perlite without the heating pad should be enough. You do not want the perlite to be in water, instead you want the perlite to absorb all the water, that way it will aspirate it to the FC atmosphere. If the perlite is under water it will not raise the humidity. Perlite can achieve 99% by itself.
Pull the fruits from the cakes if there are any and dunk them for at least 12 hours. Did they turn blue?
As for condensation, when you have very high humidity this will happen. If you are that concerned about it consider making a drip shield, search for that term on the site (not the forum) and you will find what I mean with diagram

your cakes are getting hard because the humidity it too low. you need to make the perlite moist...and keep it moist!~ and spray the inside sides of the fruiting chamber to keep the humidity level upward of 98% if you can.
buy a Taylor humidity gauge if you can afford one.
You really should dunk those cakes...if you want to try and save them. No way of knowing if they are done for...but at least try and save them.
as far as the condensation issue... Just slap the lid up against something when you check on your cakes to knock the moisture off the lid. and I've never had a problem with condensation really being an issue with cakes. it's really not going to hurt them...to have a few drips of water on them.
and drip sheilds are really not needed...IMHO they just get in your way!~
really moist cakes with water even on top of them....
