Okay, I'll guess first. Some guy with long black hair in a 1989 nissan sentra with personalized license plates followed you around while you were on your red mountain bike. He was trying hard to make it look like he wasn't tailing you but a car following you at 10 mph per hour is hard to disguise. You assessed the situation quickly and made a move when the roads median abruptly ended.

At this point you quickly flipped a bitch and charaged the car. At 6 feet from his grill you did one of your BA famous bikefu tabletops known as the auweia special landing on the hood of his jalopy. The weakened CV boots finally gave and the front wheels of his car went their own ways.

You then proceeded to ride into the sunset with your bullet-proof vest out of the saddle bag.

Was I close?

haha....Drama is nice, and to continue the last sentence, and then I proceeded to ride into the sunset with my patch, and now it is buried in three new locations around the bay. This is what the original patch looks like now >>

those are not active, not even close to a psilocybe. ps will be about 1/3 the size.

I didnt think so, figured it was a good day to look. There was a section off the 'highway' near richmond where there were tons of shrooms just chillin on the side of the road and they all looked just like those. Thanks for the help though.

yeah those are all over the Bay Area right now. I think those are Stropharia riparia > http://www.mykoweb.com/CAF/species/Stropharia_riparia.html

sometimes called 'the freeway mushroom'...The ones you found are more dried out and older than the prime example on the MSSF site.

But those are the most common ones around right now, and cyanescens can grow in the same areas. You'll see these on the side of the road in many places and sometimes it's worth it to stop and go have a closer look

Hehe...A car isn't really the best way for that. Alot of places you can't even slow down unless you want to get pulled over.

I prefer a bicycle. And I thought it was great that Stamets also says that in his new book. Even with a bike it's cruising along, then spot a patch and slow down to a crawl. Speed up, slow down, speed up, slow down....Typical hunting day...hehe
