found a pair of syringes. i'd assume these to be WAY too old (almost a year) but what exactly is the expiration date on a syringe?

Ive used a 6month old one once. Ive also used the dried spore crust in the syringe to grow about 1year after i got the syringe. LC went bad, but the spores did germinate.

Most vendors say they'll guarentee their syringes for 45 days or so, but they'll also tell you they last a lot longer. I wouldn't be surprised at all if a year old syringe was still viable.

I've had 6yr. old syringes germinate just fine. They were stored in the crisper in the fridge.

I have some 5 year old syringes that I have kept in the crisper of my fridge...
and they are still viable and germinate just fine too.

How come is there the notion that prints seem to last much longer than syringes? Anyone know and do they? Whenever someone asks ppl say to prints that they can without a doubt last many many years and syringes many months, why the difference?

Spores will store in sterilized, distilled water far longer than they will exposed to air. I think it's very likely that test tubes of distilled water may be the best for long term storage. I do know a properly stored spore syringe will outlast a print. RR

So true, this keeps the spores hydrated yet ungerminated like a sleeping bear.

To continue that line of thought:
Will spores in distilled water outlast spore that are not exposed to air and not exposed to water or extreme heat or light?
