Took a friend out to the cow pasture few months back and today he comes in with a pocket full of mushrooms saying they look like some stuntzii. Ive never seen them in person but they seem close. Cap is about an inch or so, gills and stem all appear to be about the same color stem is hollow, and about 2-3" tall, It had no apparent bruising (which is what makes me think its nothing and also its out of season.. so i couldn't ident for him) Enviroment was Eugene, OR area, growing out of old wood chips w/ some grass (don't know type), growing w/ f inkies and wierd cup shaped things.
sorry no habitate picture, photos are about 4h after picking no spore print yet either, still dropping i feel bad about these poor guys, riped out of their home and proablly can't be eaten... but iam curious what they look like

I'm not sure about L. affinis. The Laccaria I have seen are mostly edible, but I've never been tempted to eat one.

Another thought is Hygrocybe.
No species of Laccaria is known to be poisonous.
Happy mushrooming!

Spore print should be white with laccaria and hygrocybe, so be sure to use dark paper. Usually when I find Laccarias the leaf litter around them are completely white from spores.
In any case, definitely not anything active. Nice pics though.

Here is your pic:
  This one might kill you:
not sayin this is your exact species but you might want to study some of these pictures in this link well......they all have your mushrooms spore color and occur on wood.......and very possibly kill you.....now I see why not many I.D's for these genera

nice tip for the field......also good idea to use black and white paper for the prints if possible.....
