Contaminated Syringe?

A while back I ordered a mycelium syringe from Fungi Perfecti. It was a Pink Oyster Syringe. A couple weeks ago I looked at it and noticed some weird growth in the bottom, but I wasn't sure what it meant to I tried inoculating some agar with it. The first attempt was ruined by condensation in the dishes, but I tried again and all three cultures turned out bright green, some nasty type of mold I'm sure. So can actualy syringes be infected, or is this just some mycelium growth? It's at the bottom of the syringe appearing to almost go up the needle. I'll get some pics tomorrow.

Might just be mycelium growth. Hard to say anything for sure. The agar itself could have got contaminated in the inoculation process.

Strangely, all three dishes have near the same growth and the same pattern. There's a big part in the middle and then it kind of goes to the sides, and I'm pretty sure this is the pattern of the liquid mycelium. I'm pretty heart broken no matter what though, I needed these for school. I was going to contact them, but they say you're suppose to do it within 10 days and It's been many months by now. Maybe I'll call em up tomorrow.

Fungi Perfecti sells culture syringes? That is something I never heard before. I thought your choices were either a) spawn b)kit c) agar plate culture.

Ugh sorry, I posted this after a very long weekend. I got the syringe from spore works actually, but Fungi Perfecti does sell invitro culture syringes (for something like 125 bucks a pop!). I only paid like 18 or something. Sorry, I order a lot from FP so I just assumed that's where I got it from.

They are very expensive because Fungi Perfecti has been developing their strain of the species for a long time and you are buying rights to use it

"Culture(s) are packaged in a 125 mm x 20 mm test tube containing antibiotic malt extract agar (?MEA?)." Not exactly a culture syringe... but I was wrong and said a plate at first.
