you musta been tripping man.  a hat will not restrict bloodflow to the brain because the arteries supplying blood to it enter through the neck into the bottom of the skull.

you musta just been smoking too much

Hehe... but some people don't understand anatomy, or forget what they know about it when they're really baked. Either way, he seems to have thought that blood somehow is transported through the skull and descends into the brain

Exterior veins of the head and neck

Ha! you suck, you were outsmarted by a stoned and oxygen to the brain deprived pothead.

Notice the "Internal Jugular" in that illustration. See how it passes below the other vessels and into the depths of the skull? That is connected to the interior vessels of the head, and to the brain. It branches off to the external jugular, which deals with returning blood from the tissues outside of the skull, such as the muscles near the base of the skull, and the tissues of the scalp.

Also, I might point out that the illustration there is of VEINS. Do you know what veins do? They return blood FROM an area that has been depleted of oxygen. The vessels which supply blood are called ARTERIES.

well, wearing a tight hat has some sort of effect on your head. That I do know, because I do know how it feels to have a very tight hat on. But, I doubt it has any effect on the blood flow inside of the brain itself. It definitely alters the flow to the exterior tissues of your head, though.

I'm not a medical student or anything, but I don't doubt that wearing a really tight hat will do something to the way your head feels. However I think that being very stoned can blow that out of proportions. Like, for example. I once thought that since I had been standing around with my knees locked (which someone had mentioned lessens flow through the legs), that I had been depriving my body of proper blood flow. It made me feel lightheaded. It was psychosomatic... that is to say that the symptoms were all caused by my thoughts. Being really stoned can make it easier to feel a sort of "placebo" effect. So much so that really it can seem like there is a recurring and very real effect.

To this day I have problems where it feels like my throat gets constricted if I get way too baked. My throat never actually is constricted, because air flows quite easily through it, but at the time it really feels like it is and it's easy to ignore the things that indicate that it isn't.

No, a stroke is a blockage of blood flow within a vessel inside of the brain. Think of it like a cranial heart attack.

This is some funny shit. I suppose its kind of like cutting off the blood flow from your arm. It might fuck with shit enough for you to notice a difference especially when you let go of the constriction. Beyond that, a tight hat on your head is going to give you a weird heady sensation. Heady, get it?

A tight hat isnt going to do anything to your brain. Maybe if you wear your tiny hat too much the top of your scalp will become so deprived of oxygen that your hair will fall out and your skin will die. then the top of your head will go black and rot and your face will slide off. Now thats something to think about while your baked.
