    #5497135 - 04/09/06 04:36 PM (17 years, 9 months ago)

Becasue I got two syringes from them and used both types One grew great and quick the other still nothing in 5 weeks. They are all in the same incubator so it couldnt be the temp. and I used mycobags and they are still moist but nothing is happening. After 3 weeks I re-inoculated and still nothing. So im pretty sure its not me. Anyone know anything about Brazilians. do they need like really high temps to colonize. my temp is at 82-80

Most vendors carry growing supplies.  I dont think they are gonna turn you in to the cops!  That would definitely be bad for business, plus they get rid of any mailing info after a purchase.  On top of that Ive seen some of them post grows here.

IMOP I would tell them that under the microscope you saw contams, fair enough right?

Edit: If you don't mind, what vendor was it?

Wow! I can't believe some of the replies here. Listen, every single vendor, without question, grows or has grown magic mushrooms. Where do you think most of the spores came from? Of course they know what your intentions are when you make a purchase. Any vendor will help you out, just be honest.

Your email should go something like this:

"I received your syringe and inoculated my substrate comprised of _________. It's been 5 weeks now and I have no growth. I even tried to inoculate them again and still have no viable mycelia growing. There are no signs of contaminates so I have to point to the syringe I used. I am kindly requesting a replacement, as this syringe does not appear to be viable. Any help you can offer me would be greatly appreciated.

I look forward to our continued business."

That's it. Pretty simple.

You got some bad advice. You should never mention growing. No vendor in his right mind is going to respond. If you go to almost any of the spore vendors websites and read their disclaimers you would know this. There is also the possibility that you had a bad bag. Swim has seen that before.

you got some bad advice is right. gotta read the disclaimer.

try growing the syringe again. shake it well so you aren't shooting blanks into the jars because the syringe are almost always viable.
