I made $100 last year. Around the end of May the Yanks were about 10 games out. My friend called to cackle and I said that he ought to know better. I bet him that the Yanks would be in the playoffs. The idiot took the bet. What a sap.

Keep in mind the Yanks started off atrociously last year before winning their division.
And the last time we won a world series, our season started just the same as this season.
So...what's your point, bub?

See my previous post about precipitous baseball conclusionizing. And the financial pitfalls therefrom. Drawing conclusions after 5 games is like determining the NFL season in the first half of the first game.

Oh, I wasnt saying they're gonna suck. I have no doubt they'll make the playoffs. There's just too much talent there.
Just some good-natured ribbing for the guy from NYC...

Papelbon reminds me of Mariano Rivera a few years back when he was just untouchable. Of course, Papelbon still has a lot of proving himself to do...hope he stays hot though...or we'll unleash the POWER of Keith Foulke

I love Papelbon as a closer he has the mentatlity for it, when you see him on the mound he is fired up and throws heat. Foulke looked a lot better in his last outing I would still use him as setup man and second closer though.

Papelbon and Beckett remind me a lot of eachother, very intense, and very vocal. When Beckett struck a guy out in his last start yeah pumped his fist and you could clearly see him say "YEAH...FUCK YOU!"

Plus, I think Papelbon is dreamy

Yeah, I have posada. Unfortunately, I was too much in the whole for it to help me.
