hello all,
I birthed the strain Australian Panaeolus (Copelandia) cyanescens about a week ago, 2 days after I noticed growth they are about 4 inches tall with a cap the size of a pencil eraser.. My question is.. Are the size of these normal at this age of the mushroom? Do they get bigger with age? Are they taller than usual mushrooms? Are they stronger than cubensis strains? What do you personally think of this strain?
I dont have a pic atm
thanks so much for your replies!!

That sounds about right. It is a smaller strain. It should produce mushrooms that are larger in later flushes but don't expect caps much bigger than a dime. All pan cyans have scary potency, so be careful.
Here is a composite of several strains that I put together awhile ago. It includes the Australian but the ones I grew had very long stems. Expect some variation between strains, especially from different sources.

The biggest caps I had were about the size of a nickel (well maybe one or two quarters). Make sure your humidity is down to 90% for maximal cap growth. As Workman said, they are killer strong like all pan cyans. Start with no more than 1/5th of the amount you would with dried cubensis.

The picture is of Ausis. They were plenty meaty, and I won't use them all up for years. Scatmanrav did a run with the same strain and got the same results.

Next time I would recommend better gas exchange if you want to shorten the fruits and get the caps to open up. Caps fusing like that is normal and happens infrequently.
