Three to four squares of parafilm are perfect for wrapping a petri dish. Stretch the parafilm gently as you wrap the dish. It will stick to itself. Parafilm does not make the dish airtight. The wax will breathe to provide gas exchange to the petri dish, while its pore size will help prevent contaminants from entering the dish. RR

Any reccomendations for keeping wrapped plates from sticking when stacked? I tried to peep me plates and the wrap broke open and contaminated a few plates.

I just restack them every now and then....eventually they stop sticking so much

cut the parafilm in thinner strips so it doesn't wrap over the top and bottom of the plate, just to the edge.

Yeah the roll I've bought is two inches wide and splitting it seems to make a perfect fit for disposable dishes.
