Botulism in Jars???

My cats have a few jars that they sterilized about two months ago. The jars have no growth and look like normal jars. No Cubensis spores have been put in the jars (because that would be illegal). But, my cats wonder if the jars could possibly have botulinum bacteria in them. The cats know that if they grow their legal and edible oyster mushrooms on the cakes, that any toxins could be transfered to the fungi. That would be a real bummer. If anyone can help my cats, I'm sure they'll appreciate it! Thanks.

Agreed, I think anthrax may be more likely.

I'm just worried because I know that botulism is anaerobic. Why is there a better chance of anthrax?

I dunno did any afagans sneak and your room and sprinkle a mysterious white powder in yer jars.


On a more serious note. You prolly gonna want to redo them jars. Try not to wait too long before innoculation after sterilization. You can wait a few days to see if anything pops up. But its hard for me to think that after 2 months them jars are still viable. I would just redo them to risk waisting time and spores.
