Needles/Syringes
    #5494187 - 04/08/06 06:57 PM (17 years, 9 months ago)

Where can you get them? I'd preferably not order online because I dont really feel like buying 100 of them. Or spending 40 bucks in the process.. I have tried a few local pharmacies but they allways ask me why and look at me like im some fucking tweaker.

My friend at mytoshack got me mine, they are very fair priced and you only have to buy ten. That is if you decide to buy online

go to a pet supply place and say I need 20 cc syringes with 18 gauge needles perferably atleast an inch and a half long and they will be like ok here ya go

cause no human would ever need that big of a syringe and the needle gauge is so large it wont fit in a humans vain (well maybe but god damn its the size of your vain if not bigger)
and they wont ever question it as long as you just say your uncle sent you or something dumb but dont even say that unless they ask

Actually as a paramedic i regularly use needles of 18 guage for most i.v.'s i give people.. I regularly use 14 and 16 gauge needles on trauma patients too..

I wouldn't recommend getting needles made for humans to use anyways, they aren't very big... it's nice to get 12CC 14 gauge needles like the ones they use on horses... can inject more substrate that way. You can get those at farm supply stores. In Canada we have TSC stores, there's probably an equivalent chain in the 'States.

My favourite excuse for buying needles is that I'm making an art project for my "college sculpture class". It totally explains my lack of any medical knowledge of what kind of needle I want, too! (life hint: artwork is the best excuse for any random thing you want to buy and don't want to be questioned about!)

I've used the meat injector things before - they work ok, but depending on what kind of jar mix you're using, shit gets caught in the needle cause it has such an odd opening...  :syringe:

Get a dremel tool/metal saw and cut a finer edge on it... wear eye protection =)

I've had the most problems using meat injector things thou, they're harder to keep contam free

Also - go to a computer store like Frys and get printing injector needles. Do some google reseach, youll see what im talking about. They usually come in a box of other crap, but i just ripped one open, took the needle and shoved a couple bucks in there... haha:syringe:

They are 10cc, usually blunt now, but I sawed a sharp edge on mine, and it worked beautifully!

Otherwise depending on your loc, id say online is great, there are places with low shipping, and item specific orders .. i.e. 8 syringes for $0.13 a piece. :evildog:
