Hello there!!!
I couldn't find direct info on this, is casing absoluteley necessary to the fruiting process?
What i mean is when my incubated (wbs/hpoo) mix is fully colonized, can I just exose it to light and colder temps to induce fruiting, or do I need to spread a casing over it for some reason i havent read yet? pity posts are appreciated.

you sure can, just make sure to spray it a lot before pinning so it has plenty of water to build fruits

casing supply the much needed water to produce your 90% water mushies. now if u can hydrate your substrate another way you can use a layer of wax paper drapped over to creat that micro climate that is the other benifit of a casing layer. run a search this is a need idea sorry i forgot whos it was. im still waiting to try it.
