I've heard that Panther Amanita can be hallucinogenic and if taken in extremely small doses that it can make you trip and you won't die.

It can be hard to identify for beginners. Especially since it can resemble other species that are poisonous. I wouldn't bother with this species at all. Whether you are an expert or beginner. Not worth anyone's time IMO.
Seriously, don't bother with it.

They do contain many of the same toxins as A. muscaria. However, people taking them are more likely to end up in an emergency room. The likelihood of death is low, but almost everybody who tries them says they wouldn't do it again.
Happy mushrooming!

Yeah, even if you are able to successfully identify them - it probably wouldn't be worth your effort. Especially with the possible risk of misidentification being really dangerous.

Despite what stories you hear about Pantherina youll be gauranteed sick.....the best thing to look at with this one is the bottom line............this mushroom accounts for more emergency room visits in the Pacific Northwest U.S. for mushroom poisoning than the others combined......and proper I.D. of Pantherina can be some what specialized at times.....I dont how many times I've found two different species of Amanita actually touching each other....
