My Tenn Stud is showing small green mold!?!?!

I have a 12qt. tub of tenn stud 50/50 mix spawned with 3qts of WBS. It's on about day 11 and is abot 90 percent colonized. There is LOTS and lots of water condensation under the saran wrap cover i have over it. There are even small pools of water and large drops setting on top of the substrate. I noticed a really thick white section and then noticed like under the white barely were about 4 random green looking spots. I kind of scraped off the thick white and green parts with a sterile knife. What should i do? toss it? i hope not. Maybe make 2 small tubs with the good parts of the poo that are basically done and mold free?

the mold is white, the mold spores are green. There is probably more contamination then you think, but who knows?

if it does continue to try and mold in that spot can i just cut my 12qt. tub of substrate into 2-3 smaller chunks, and keep the moldy spot out? Try to fruit the smaller chunks?

Use foil instead of saran wrap. You can form it by folding so water runs to the edges, rather than pooling up in the middle and dripping down. It will also keep light off the casing as it colonizes. RR

Yes. It's the only time I put mycelium in the dark. I let jars colonize in regular room light. When the bulk substrate is spawned however, I cover with foil to keep in the dark. When the substrate colonizes, I add the casing layer and again keep in the dark for a few days until half to 2/3 covered on the surface with mycelium, then expose to fruiting conditions. RR

I fully understand the idea behind keeping the casing colonization in the dark, I am curious about why you prefer darkness for the spawn run. I am familiar with many of your experiments and would love to hear what wisdom you might have on the subject (I am actually more interested with wood bulk for edibles)
