stoners of the bible

I don't pretend to much of anything about the bible, cuz to be honest i hardly read it.However i was brought to my attention the the book of ecclesiastics was written by a man who goes out in to the world with the intent of trying everything good under the sun. From what i read it sound like he had a hell of a good time.In the end he says that god was behind it all and the only thing that truly matters.
So I'm guessing he must of had one hell of a good trip. And from i get out of it is that everything is cool to do with god as long as its done in moderation. What are everyones thoughts on this. And if this is true then why are most Christian alway saying anyone doing these things is a bad person and going to hell.Well from what little Ive read that seems to be very unchristian like.Make me wonder how many ppl who say there Christian really are. :stoned:

my thoughts are that it is wrong and i don't see where you got the idea. the bible says "thou shalt not kill", not "killing is ok, as long as it's done in moderation". jesus did not come to tell us it was ok to sin in moderation, he came to teach us how to rise above the consciousness of sin so that we "may be perfect, even as [our] father in heaven is perfect". (Matthew 5:48)

the buddhist concept of moderation obviously involves never killing, not even in self defense.

everything in moderation, such as daily activities that are fun and harmless to do, but done too much lead to dissatisfaction and attachment.

No activity, regardless of how repetitive its practice is, will ever lead to dissatisfaction and attachment by its own right.

Dissatisfaction and attachment is within the realm of the conscious mind, if one claims their birth right to effectively utilize their conscious mind, that is.
