The Color of User Names At The Shroomery

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this but the two primary colors of names at the Shroomery are red and green.
Green belonging to Mods and red to your average Loco like myself. But I have also noticed a few names appearing in black. What is the significance of the names appearing in either red or black? Does anyone have an answer to this out there?

i too have noticed this.
i have a few theories.

the black names are old posts...they turn black after a certain period of time. (i say this because most of the names in the archive are black)

either that, or they are idle members or something.

anyone have the real answer?
