The New South Park...

Huge fan of the series as a whole, but last night's episode was just awful. They've gotta give the whole religion bashing thing a rest. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for religious bashing if it's done in a humorous manner, but Trey and Matt suck at it IMO. The mormon episode was lame, the scientology episode was mildly amusing at best, and from the looks of last night the muslim one won't be much better. They should make more "Towelies" or throw another shuriken in Butter's eye.
And ripping on Family Guy? Yeah there may not be much of a plot and the jokes may be interchangable at times, but they're FUNNY...which is more than I can say for South Park as of late. You don't need a strong story to make good comedy (Napolean Dynamite and Big Lebowski come to mind).
Stop ripping on religions, stop tempting fate by coaxing Comedy Central and return to your roots...barbed satire and inane, hilarious shit.

Yeah, they're going too political lately, and that comes from a huge series fan. Best episode yet? Scott Tenorman must die, that says something

South Park goes from strength to strength IMO

are you talking about the mohammad (sp) episode?
i think its cause the episode of family guy taht got it originally pulled from fox a few years ago was the episode that made fun of jewish people (which reaaally was not a big deal imo)
and now they are just parodying it by making people try to take it off the air because of an episode offending muslims
thats just what i thought

didn't anybody catch the scientology references in the muslim episode? About freespeech and what not. Them scientologists are making a big deal about the scientology episode. The muslim episode isn't even about the muslim crap really.
That's my take anyway. I think they're hilarious.

Agreed, that episode last night was crap. I understood the link to the whole scientology tom cruise comedy central censorship scandal. However 9 out of 10 south park veiwers didn't. The diss on Family guy. Tottaly weak. They had no legs to stand on. Family guy is kicking south parks ass as of late.

It also had a paralelism between SP and FG with the whole "cartman saying his humor is not at all like FG's humor" thing. Looks like Trey and Matt are tired of being compared to FG I can't blame them taking into account that they half invented that style of humor for mass-tv.

Family Guy is minorly funny. Its exactly how South Park portrayed it as throwing random interchangable jokes into a loosely fitted plots. I mean I guess its a little funny but not worth watching.

Exactly. I love Family Guy and South Park to death, but I think Matt and Trey are somewhat jealous of the success Family Guy is enjoying.
In my own opinion, Family Guy > South Park.

Scew that, the Mormon and Scientology ones are two of the greatest SP episodes created.
As was stated earlier, though, the Scott Tenorman one was the best ever.

I didn't get to see last nights episode, but I'm saddened that they ripped on Family Guy. Family Guy and South Park are hella funny in their own rights. They shouldn't make fun of eachother. They should make fun of the shows that truly do suck. Like the Andy milanakus show. I haven't laughed at that show once. And I venture to guess I wouldn't laugh at it even if I was stoned off my ass.

I'm like the only dude my age who is tired of them ripping on everything. It doesn't make me laugh anymore. It's too predictable and I think the show has gone downhill since it started taking itself too seriously. It was better when it was more silly.

I have to say, I enjoy the Family Guy episodes from before it got canceled alot more than I like the current episodes. It just feels like the random(i.e. interchangable) humor, which is what made it hilarious in the first place, isn't really that random anymore. Granted, South Park isn't nearly as good as it used to be, but Family Guy has just gone downhill fast.

No, just make fun of shitty shows. I don't care if they hug or whatever, I just don't think two funny ass cartoons should make fun of eachother. They should make fun of the shiity shows to weed them out. Obviously south park making fun of Family guy isn't really gonna have much influence over Family Guy, but they could focus on the fact that Andy Milanakas SUCKS ASS!!! God someone shoot that little bastard.

I haven't liked season 10 much either. Each episode might have a couple good parts, but they don't compare to the non-stop laughing they usally pull off. I have to say though Smug Alert was absolutely hilarious when the first person smelt their fart.

i couldn't disagree more.
new family guys are hit and miss and overtly redundant at times (like when stewie beats bryan up for roughly 2 minutes straight, terribly unfunny and disturbing to watch if you ask me)
but when the new episodes are funny they are damn damn damn funny.
this new south park was okay..... i didn't catch the second new episode and the chef one was HILIARIOUS to me..... because of his spliced singing... but i do agree they could stand to lay off religion a bit.
all in all south park delivers far more consistently than family guy does to me, and because it's more plot oriented it doesn't get "old" to watch repeats, whereas family guy is all about the randomness, this makes for hilarious moments, but then that's it... watching repeats kind of kills the awesomeness.

South Park hasnt gone hill in the slightest. Family Guy has gone to complete shit with all the new ones and deserve to be fun of. People need to be made aware at the unoriginality that family guy is creating so Seth can realize it is time to get some new material. Family Guy even fucking exports their show to china to have it drawn FFS. I do agree the random episodes of SP like towlie are unmatched, but the political ones are in no way lacking imo. If any show is coming close to South park, it is Aqua Teen Hunger Force and some of the other adult swim line up.
