Overylay.. Confused???

Alright,
I "think" I might have overlay occurring with my casings. They are currently in the incubation chamber.
Before you ask...
Temp of incubation chamber ~78F Foil with holes punched in it covering the top to release co2 Water - I water about once a day very light misting
PLEASE correct me here.. My understanding is that the reason you would incubate the casing (from the pf tek) would be for the myc to recover. You would expect growth and some colonization of the casing but you would not normally expect colonization of the surface of the casing layer. Up to this point I have been just adding casing mix over the section which I believe have overlay. Would this be the best way to proceed? I do not want to deep scratch the casing if I don't need to.
Questions * On avg. with b+ or Cambodians how long should one have to incubate before putting in the fc. I understand this will depend on the amount of casing used but just a round guesstimate of your experiences. I also understand you will want to incubate until you see about 60% of the casing have myc growth coming through.
* I could be TOTAL WRONG, lol and could have myc growing just and not overlay and just to damn paranoid from smoking, lol. -- Looks like a cloudy very white growth. Not solid tight growth like pf cakes or the casings I see on the pics section( the few I have seen, I just keep looking at the end products, lol) Just to new to feel confident in identifying overlay vs myc growth for my casing - This is my first casing. - If someone has some great clear pics of both overlay and myc growth comparison I would applicate it!
any input on this would be appreciated. I love this site I might of just read to much and now freaking,
Thank You!
If there are other stuff that would be helpful for me to tell you.. I would be glad to fill you in on what I can.

when you start getting growth comming few in a few sopts thats then you move teh casing to your FC. most people will patch these spots with a thin layer of case mix.

Yeah, you should have put it in after the first time you added more casing.

When you let the myc. recover...Did you let it fully colonize, (turn white), and THEN apply your casing layer....?

It did not fully colonize, just a part of the casing was on top. It was not growing through the casing evenly, just a few parts where the myc was closer to the top of the casing then another section.
Any ideas?

yes well pics help. but if you myc is poking through in a few places thats good. thast not overlay. overlay is when its basically a cake consistency. this means theres is not microeviroment and water won't even penitrate this overlayed surface so hydration is problematic.
