What a glorious wednesday *PICS
    #5488275 - 04/06/06 11:01 PM (17 years, 9 months ago)

Pretty much started the same way including the the same perfect mound of mushrooms. The same patty as the one on Monday had another amazing flush 2 days later, it was great.

I only stayed about 10 minutes and in one area and came out with about 30 nice sized cubes. Here are the rest of the pictures from the day. I even almost got bit by a copperhead as I was hunting and damn did I crap my pants. I stepped on it's head right as it jumped to bite my foot so luckily I came out OK. I jumped about 20ft back in the process though. As I was running back to the car I thought about getting my camera and going back but I hate snakes so I knocked that idea out.

For a quick comparison I put up all 4 pictures from Monday and Wednesday so you can check them out. The patty is pulling strong and although I wanted to take it for my patty project I decided against it since it grows so good there.

Enjoy guys I hope everyone else is having such good luck and be careful those snakes are dangerous.

I think its really cool to see how they grow from the small pins in the first picture to what they became in the second. The best part about it is that the weather for Texas is going to peak in a few more weeks so I'm expecting lots more where those came from.

I even know exactly where that specific patty is and every time I go by the field I hop over for a second and see what's growing.

Are you going ninja or have permission?
Is the spot low key? That is really the only way I like to hunt.
Safe, and legal, with permission, and a good excuse to get off with the law.

Glad to hear of your good fortune dude. Earlier this week I went out south of Houston and came out of the field with a good 20 caps. Just waiting now until we get some more rain and they'll be popping up like crazy.

I had some crazy good luck, thanks to my awesome sidekicks shroom hermit and phishhead. Getting out in the field and learning as you go is the only way. Reading beforehand helps too. If you are dedicated and have good intentions, the mushrooms will come to you without you even looking.

It's ninja but it's pretty far away from anything that would get us in trouble other than the animals themselves. The field is HUGE and away from any rancher's house so I'm not really worried. I'll be checking out another field today so we will see how that hunt goes.

Man, I need to find some spots in TX, nothing around where I live is working for me....maybe in a few weeks though.

Those are some bad ass pics though, I hope my hunt goes as well...
