i need professional identification help
    #5487890 - 04/06/06 09:01 PM (17 years, 9 months ago)

i found these mushrooms a few days ago after a rain. i live in northern alabama and i found them in a cow pasture. it was a large down sloping field with many terris rows and they grew fairly close together, no less than 4 feet away. they mainly grew on the flatter areas of the feild. The picture is blurry so i'll try and help describe them, they were white and black under the cap, the stem was hollow and they did not bruise blue. they were mainly longer than the palms of my hand. about 4-9 inches long. i think that they may be P. caerulescens but i would absolutely love some second opinions. any help is appreciated, thanks.

Those look like Inky Caps (Coprinus sp.). Not active.

The inkies have been out for the whole week.
Not active, don't eat. Keep looking. Follow the heart of the mushroom.
Be the mushroom, feel the land.
