Hey there.
I was just wondering what kind of power I'd want in an aquarium heater for tubs that are 32 x 20 x 17.5 in.

Well, I would suggest that you find out how many gallons of water your working with and find a heater that is made for that many gallon tank. 5 Gallons=5 Gallon heater, simple, eh?
If it dosen't say on the box, ask someone at the store.

Not quite as simple as all that. You should factor in not only the amount of water you're trying to heat, but also how many degrees you are trying to raise the heat above the ambient temperature.
And also, please remember that the water touches a lot more surface area in the TiT, because of the nested upper tub. This dramatically increases the rate of heat dissipation as compared to a rectangular aquarium.
I recently tried a 50W heater on a 31"x16" TiT, trying to raise it from 70 degrees to 84 degrees. It couldn't do it. Took it to 79 degrees, and no higher. Replaced it with a 200W heater ($10 more!) and it was at 84 degrees in 30 minutes.
Finally: A bigger heater won't have to work as hard to heat, so it will likely last longer. Strongly recommend a 150W+.

i am awaiting my thermastat to keep my TiT @ 82 constantly, today alone it went from 74 - 82 - 90 - 82 - almost 100. I turned it off and said f it for now. Do you think when it reached in the 90 that might have burned or hurt my growth?
If you can get a heater w/ a thermistat hightly recomend it. This way you can have a big tub and a big 150w+ and never worry hehe
