Innoculating tonight. Okay to leave foil in place with PF tek?

Hello all! I just got my little PF Tek Jars into the pressure cooker. I'll be innoculating much later tonight.
I have place a double layer of heavy duty foil on the top of the jars before placing the lid and screwing on the ring.
I have lurked for a bit, and search, so I apologize if this is a silly question.
But Do I need to remove the foil? Can't I just simply pierce the foil with my innoculating syringe? Some things that I have read suggest removing the foil, and some suggest leaving it.
I am curious as to if leaving the foil in place may cause complications with air exchange.
As always, this great community's help and advice is always appreciated. Much love to you all, and thank you for getting me this far!!! :-)

If this is your first time, I recommend moving the foil, innoculating, and then replacing it. Then once about 80 percent colonized, then remove the foil. This way, contams will be less of an issue. You never know what might be floating around in your room/incubation chamber until you get heavy into the hobby. Just my 2 cents.

Hold on.. you have the foil underneath the lid? So the lid is screwed over the foil? In that case do not remove it since you'd have to unscrew the lid to get at it that wouldn't be good. How exactly do your lids look?

Yes, the foil is underneath the lids. The lids are on top, and then the ring is screwed on top over the foil. Under the rim of the lid, some foil is hanging out :-)
I can take some pics later :-)

How did you think of doing it like this? Anyway how is your lid? Do you have holes in your lid for inoculation?

OOOOH, sorry I read that wrong.
Foil UNDER your lids? Weird......can I ask why? haha
Either way though, once you puncture the underlid foil, it will be open to contams. I still say put the outer foil back on until almost fully colonized.

Yup, I have my holes for inoculation already tapped out. I tapped the underside of the jars, so the rough part the hole creates are pointed up.
I read a few of the teks, and I got the idea because it seemed, to me at least, that water would have a harder time getting in, this way. I also have a friend on another board that I discussed it with, and he said its how he did it.
I may not be doing it properly here.. But since this is technically my first grow, I might be botching it up. That's why I am only doing 4 jars to start off. I am considering this an educational grow so that if I screw things up, I won't be dissapointed too bad ;-)

Your fine this time around but next time just put a piece of foil over the lid and ring. When PCing with foil just simply press firmly all the way around the foil so it is tight to the band (ring) this will keep water out then when inoculating I just put the foil back on loosely (not as tight) this helps keep the moisture content stable IME and gives me a place to write strain, inoculation date as well as full colonization date or any other pertinent information. GL and welcome bro

I'm just curious...how would water get inside your jars?
