ozric has like 20 albums, pick up a few. some albums im like WTF were they on? crack? and other albums take me to a whole different world. they mix good jams with excellent bass riffs. throw in all kinds of foreign and middle eastern style twists. and lay some psychedelic smackdown between your eardrums.
a good album is Erpland, but theyve got better. songs ide recommend;
Dots Thots Mysticum Arabicola Erpland
theres others, cant think of too many at the moment
they are great when your kickin back
no offence with the mozart deal, didnt mean to bruise your great reputation as the worlds greatest self enthusiast.

I've heard Shulman, Hallucinogen, Ozric, Younger Brother, Celtic Cross and all that stuff but none of it was as good as Shpongle to me.
Infected Mushroom is like in a whole other category... It's trippy music but I don't know if I'd like to actually TRIP to it. Seems more amphetamine fueled.

I wasn't going to post in another Shpongle thread, but I couldn't help myself.
Shpongle is the best trip music, period. I listen to all 3 of their albums all the time and never get sick of them.
As for Ozrics, they are simple amazing. Shroomie didn't even mention their good songs. Which are: The Domes of G'Bal, Ghedengi, Tight Spin, Vibuthi, Sultana Detrii....I could go on. Definitely check out all of these guys' catalog. I would recommend Waterfall Cities, Become the Other, Erpland and The Hidden Step as their top albums.
As for other artists like Shpongle...
Capsula (this guy makes some of the trippiest music I've ever heard) Shulman Entheogenic Androcell Ott

Their new CD only had a handful of good songs on it. Otherwise, they rock!

Nah, they were all good.....But thanks for the musical critique flowie...
Shroomieofdoomie, your right, they might have said most of that, DMT is dominant, then lsd, and then the words "I was hardly ready" at the end....
AT least thats what I hear... You certainly did clarify the song again for me, as I was not listening to it when I wrote my last remark.

I think the tdmt you speak of is actually lsdtodmt, I love them all remotely. Gotta love all the takes on perception.

i would be a musical genius, but i stopped learning and growing musically. i just got lazy. im one of those people who can pick up any instrument/computer/vcr/pda/video game and figure it out really quickly. if i had the drive, i could actually be a good programmer or musician, but im soooooo lazy...
i was kinda thinking about how i want to do so much, but i cant make myself work towards it. i suck. oh well... im too lazy to even finish typing out my train of thought on the whole matter.
Good programmers are lazy I find. Its how/why I started programming.
"Jeeze, doing this manually really sucks and is taking a long time, how can I program something to do it faster for me..."
I used to run a dial up BBS way back when, and its how I got into programming, daily/routine tasks that I had to do by hand each day started to annoy me, so I started writing utilities to do it for me.

if what you say is true, then i must be the BEST programmer ever lol
oh i thought of something! i like music that doesnt rely on beats to drive and move the music. i like music that uses layers of instruments, notes, chords, arrangements, sounds, anything but one long shifting drum beat (which is what techno seems to be).
now i like techno a lot, but ideally for tripping i want something that isnt techno. so there. some of the hooks and intros in shpongle songs i like a lot. but then its back to same old boom boom boom boom boom boom takataka boom boom boom boom taka takataktakaka. then it changes to be bop be be bop bop taka be bop.

Most good programmers I know are super-lazy and their motivation for doing things, is to make things they do easier. *laugh* That being said, I've never been attracted to game programming. More applications and utilities.
You may be interested in checking out some minimal techno. Some things worth checking out are.
- Richie Hawtin : DE9 Transitions is amazing, and DE9 Closer to the Edit is also really good (not so much a fan of decks and effects, too banging), and his earlier releases as Plastkiman such as Consumed and Closer
- Troy Pierce live PAs. link - link 2
SleepArchive is also very trippy - great PA of his *Note: rapid share is a bit of a pain to get files from, but its worth it IMO.
Its funny, I saw him at a club awhile ago - and a bunch of people had no idea how to react to him, because alot of the time there just wasnt a beat - just these really dense droning sounds with weird sounds sort of 'fluttering' around the room, and not a straight up 4-4 beat.
But of all those, I'd recomend DE9: transitions the most, that CD is just beautiful, and not your normal boom-boom-boom techno, its very delicate, very intricite and complex - its really, really good.
