Just wondering how much of the Tenn. Stud I would need for x number of colonized quart jars of grain. The stuff is kind of pricey...

5 pounds per 2 quarts of spawn.
Pricey, maybe, but here's what 5 pounds and 2 quarts can do for you

Get the dry kind. You will be surprised at how much 5 or 10 lbs of DRY poo really is. And even more surprised how many shrooms it will grow you. eg. Cube's CAN reach 200% biological efficiency. Thats: Weight of fresh shrooms / Dry substrate = 200% A little algebra: Weight of of fresh shrooms = Dry substrate X 200% = 20Lbs!!!! (fresh)
Dry poo stores easy for future use BTW.

Would you recommend casing the poo/ colonized quart jars, or does the horse poo work as a casing layer???

No...mix the horse poo with colonized substrate (rye, wbs, brf) cover and incubate again until colonized. Then you can choose to case it with 50/50 or another casing tek...I'm not sure if I will do that...havent done it yet...
there are some good horse poo teks.
